WITH the i360 set to open any week now - hopefully - wouldn't it be great to have the Promettes back to welcome people to the seafront.

This is a classic from our archive showing a group of Brighton Promettes in their classy 1960s uniforms on the dodgems.

Maybe you are one of them? Perhaps you can spot your mother or even your grandmother? Get in touch and let us know.

Brighton and Hove has always been a big sporting city as the next couple of photographs prove.

But who are these athletes crossing the tape at Withdean in the 1960s?

Perhaps you can spot yourself sitting on the wooden bleachers watching the ladies battling it out?

What a fantastic photograph this is of an exercise class from circa 1960s.

There appears to be a piano behind the ladies, but where is it?

Perhaps you are one of them? Was this a class or perhaps a performance team?

We also want to pin down who this thatcher is?

We took a photo of him in 1986 as he was putting the finishing touches to the roof of a house in a Saxon village which was being built to celebrate the anniversary of Domesday at Battle Abbey.

We've printed this photograph of families playing ice hockey on Falmer Pond before, but we love it so much.

We would love to here from you if you are pictured here and what those long winters were like?
