LAST week snow swept into Sussex.
Buses stopped, schools were closed and local authorities put out emergency warnings.
But in reality it was little more than a dusting.
If you want to see what a real snow shower is like then just look at today’s main picture.
It shows a hardy bunch digging their way out of trouble.
Buses weren’t cancelled in those days – the 1950s.
If you wanted to get somewhere then you got out with your shovel and did what you could.
It looks like this bus was on its way to Tunbridge Wells when it got into trouble.
How fantastic that young and old pulled together and cleared the road.
Do you recognise where the bus got stuck? Let us know if you can identify the stretch of road.
Our second picture shows two people battling against the elements on a snow-covered pavement.
Again it was taken in the 1950s, as you can tell by the cars parked up on the side of the road. But where is it?
