Please read these Terms and Conditions for “Win a Wedding Competition” (“Competition”).

The Competition is promoted by Newsquest (Sussex), the publisher (“Publisher”) of The Argus and sponsored collectively by the companies listed at paragraph 23 (“Sponsors”) each donating prizes which will together form a Grand Prize for the Competition.

Each person who enters the Competition (“Entrant”) and the winning Entrant (“Winner”) together with his/her respective fiancé (“Winners”) will be subject to these terms and conditions together with the Publisher’s usual competition rules found at http://www.newsquest.co.uk/terms/ to which the Entrant agrees.

1. To enter the Competition the Entrant must ensure that as a couple they must:
(a) Be legally eligible to marry. This includes possessing a Decree Absolute if applicable.
(b) Each be over the age of 18.
(c) Accept the prizes as provided by the Sponsors in accordance with their respective terms and conditions, which it is the Entrant’s responsibility to check.
(d) Be available to marry in 2014.
(e) Wedding date subject to availability
(f) All entrants must live within Sussex.
(g) Winners will be responsible for paying registrar fees


2. The Competition is not open to any of the Publisher’s and/or Sponsors’ employees.

3. Entries must include all the required information to be valid and must be received by Saturday, April 19 2014. Details on how to enter can be found online at www.theargus.co.uk/winawedding (“Website”)

4. All valid entry forms received will be entered into the Competition and all Entrants will appear in the Newspaper to be voted for by readers by telephone/text/post. The Winners will be the couple with the highest total public votes as nominated by telephone and/or text by readers of the Newspapers and visitors to the Website.

5. Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry. The Publisher reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude Entrants from the Competition and the Sponsors and it may also at its discretion, withhold prizes for violation of any of these terms and conditions.

6. The Publisher reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Any amendments will be published on this Website you are advised to regularly check the Website for any changes.

7. The Publisher reserves the right to publish any entries (in whole or in part) and publication does not necessarily mean the Entrant has won a prize.

8. Entrants will retain copyright in their submitted entries, however, by submitting an entry each Entrant grants The Publisher a worldwide royalty-free, irrevocable and perpetual licence to use the entry in any and all media (including digital and print) for publicity and news purposes. Entries may be condensed to appear in-paper and be more succinct.

9. The Publisher takes no responsibility for any late, lost, illegible, damaged, incomplete or otherwise invalid entry. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned. All photographs submitted cannot be returned.

10. All photographs submitted must be of good-quality, in-focus, a head and shoulder portrait image, at least 10cm by 15cm for prints. Images sent on a disc should be at least 1MB in size. A selection of images may be submitted digitally.

11. Other than death or personal injury arising directly from the acts or omissions of the Publisher or its employees, the Publisher shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of the Winners’ use or enjoyment of any of the prizes sponsored.

12. The Winners acknowledge that the Publisher is merely promoting the Competition in its Newspapers and that, except as stated at 11. above, the Publisher accepts no responsibility whether directly or indirectly for any other claims whatsoever arising in respect of the prizes provided by the Sponsors.

13. Winners agree to address any claims in respect of any prize direct with the relevant prize Sponsor. There is no cash or other alternative to the prizes stated and a prize is not transferable however prizes may be substituted for a suitable alternative at the Sponsor’s discretion.

14. In consideration of winning the Competition, the Winners agree to the use of their names, photographs and general locations for publicity and news purposes during this and future promotions by the Publisher and any of its newspaper associated titles whether in print form or over the internet.

15. The Winners agree to attend all interviews and photo shoots with each Sponsor to discuss their respective prizes as is necessary for press coverage.

16. Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.

17. More than one vote per person at the voting stages is permitted under these Special Rules.

18. The Publisher’s decision which is based on the most votes received by the Entrant is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into. The Publisher reserves the right to withhold voting information and figures from any and all Entrants.

19. The Publisher reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the Competition in any manner whatsoever if, at its sole discretion, the Competition is not capable of being conducted as specified.

20. The Competition opens on Friday, March 14, 2014 with the closing date for entries being Saturday April 19 , 2014. Voting will open on Saturday April 26, 2014 and will close at 23:59 on Saturday, May 24. The Publisher reserves the right to alter these dates at any time which, if changed, shall be published on www.theargus.co.uk/winawedding. The winner will be announced on Friday , May 30.

21. All Entrants are reminded that this is a general, public vote and it is their responsibility to ensure as many members of the public are aware of their participation and vote for them as possible and they should not rely on friends and family. If couples promote their involvement in the competition they must be sure to publish the voting cost details and terms, this includes social networks, posters and articles and they must not under any circumstances misrepresent the competition or falsely obtain votes.

22. By providing your personal details you agree that the Publisher or third parties carefully selected by it may contact you by email, SMS, telephone or post about offers that might interest you.

• Hilton Brighton Metropole: Menu tasting prior to the wedding day, full hire of the Ambassador Suite from 08:00 and 23:59 on a date to be agreed between the Winners and Hilton Brighton Metropole, wedding night accommodation for the couple. Up to 50 guests to receive: sparkling wine on arrival, canapé reception, three course wedding breakfast, half bottle of wine, sparkling wine toast.
• Ginger Lily Florists : One brides bouquet, three bridesmaids bouquets, five buttonholes, two corsages, one table top arrangement.

24. If the winning couple amended the prize in any way they may be subject to additional charges.
25. In the event of any dispute as to the operation of these terms and conditions or the provision of the prize, the Publisher’ decision is final.

26. All nominated Entrants must be made aware of their nomination by the nominee prior to the entry closing date.
