Thank you for your piece about including Hove Park and Hove Rec in the Brighton & Hove 20mph scheme (Argus July 12, page 7).
This area should be a priority for 20mph, not an exclusion candidate. Retaining 30mph will put people at unnecessary risk – park users, schoolchildren and residents .
It is also likely to discourage children from cycling within Hove to the major schools on either side of the parks – Hove Park School, Blatchington Mill School and Cardinal Newman School.
Supporters of slower speeds around Hove Park and Hove Rec can contact HovePark.20mph @gmail.com for more information about the campaign to include these fantastic public parks in the 20mph scheme.
