What has happened to Brighton and Hove?

During a visit in 2007 I was impressed with the way the town had developed. It was vibrant, clean and made me feel proud of the fact that I was born there and called Brighton home for many years. For the past 24 years home has been British Columbia, Canada. In May and June this year I returned, staying in Denton. Being told that the Green Party was now in place, I looked forward to my first visit.

What has happened? I could not believe what greeted me. The Pavilion Gardens, the Old Steine, the floral clock, seafront and streets, all looking un-kept and mucky. I have always been proud of my old home town and told others that a visit should come high on their list of places to go when they come to England.

I also visited Northampton, Hemel Hempstead, London and Eastbourne during this holiday and can honestly say that Brighton and Hove was by far the least well kept and dirtiest place. We have a Green Party here and if this is an example of what they allow then everyone, everywhere, should visit the town before casting a vote in their favour. Come on Brightonians, why are you letting this happen?
