The Sussex ME Society that supports many of the 6,000 people affected by Myalgic encephalopathy (ME) or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) across the county are concerned that a few may not have the correct diagnosis following published research indicating that some may have alternative conditions such as Postural tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) or Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).
It is important that people get a thorough medical assessment before being diagnosed.
Symptoms of ME/CFS include profound physical and mental fatigue, muscle pain, concentration and memory difficulties, sleep and mood disturbances, gastric and vision problems.
The symptoms, which vary, can be exacerbated by physical or mental exertion or stress. We can be reached on 01273 674828
