I live in Hangleton and we have just received the 20mph pack from the council. Now I thought the council always had problems balancing its books, either needing to make cuts or needing to increase our tax.
So what I would like to know is how much is it all costing – ie painting the 20mph on the roads, putting up the signs at both ends of a street, the printing and postage of all these consultation forms and not to mention the administration fees incurred. Is there anyone who can give me a breakdown of these costs, and can the council tell us why it feels it is essential to fork out money on something which most people don’t want and at a time when there is so much financial hardship?
