I was very interested to read about the suggestion that bicycles should have registration numbers like cars.
More important I think would be to pass a law obliging cyclists to wear helmets.
In the end bicycles are vehicles and can travel well in access of 20mph.
As the number of cyclists on the roads continue to increase this would help avoid serious head injuries in accidents.
An added advantage is that the helmets could be marked with some type of identification (name or a number of some sort) when purchased so that riders could be easily identified if they break the law.
The helmets would keep the cyclists safer and the possibility of being identified would make riders think twice about breaking any laws.
