Can someone please tell me why there is nothing to signify the South Downs National Park, other than a couple of naff plant pots and signs at Lewes railway station?

Most other national parks have big signs up as you head towards them.

However, living within a couple of hundred yards from the national park boundary, I notice a distinct lack of signage. All I notice is house prices going sky high.

Is the national park something to be ashamed of? Should we all pretend it didn’t happen? That’s the impression I get from the powers that be.

Now that Celtique Energie have been told where to go, isn’t it time we celebrated our newest national park properly?

It’s about time the South Downs National Park Authority pulled their collective fingers out!
