I spent Armistice Day in London, where pretty much everyone wore a poppy.
Upon my return to Brighton, I was saddened to see that hardly anyone in our city wore one. Is there a reason for this?
Given that 2014 marks 100 years since the start of the First World War, wearing a poppy shows respect for those innocent people who gave their lives.
Buying a poppy also helps raise vital funds for the Royal British Legion, who help armed forces personnel and their families.
Show respect Brighton and next year wear your poppy with pride.
