Burgess Hill Town FC are having what can only be described as an extraordinary season. Ex Albion star Ian Chapman, Stuart Tuck, Paul Dolner and John Rattle are getting a fine tune from their squad of young players.
They are top of the Ryman South league but last Saturday a place in their club folklore was written when beating Aldershot FC away in the FA Trophy. The winning goal coming from the Hit Man, Dan Perry.
For the small hard core of away fans it’s like they are living in a fantasy world. After years in the doldrums the ‘Barmy Army’ as they are called are now travelling to games in a very positive frame of mind.
They had a great day at the Recreational Ground. And they are now just four games away from Wembley Stadium in the trophy final. Wouldn’t that be something?
