Is there too much traffic in St James’s Street? (Plan to cut bus pollution, The Argus, February 7).
At this point in time there is a bus going up St James Street every two minutes from 9am to 5.30pm.
I fully support this being cut by 50% or more and sending the bus via the seafront or Edward street.
You only have to stand at Morrisons to see four buses at the first bus stop and a backlog of traffic.
I have chatted with the bus company in the past as well as with the local council and to date neither have wanted to cut the bus routes or divert to try and cut pollution on St James’s Street.
I hope this is a step forward to improving the area for the ones who live, work and shop on St James’s Street.
