I have read the letter (March 18) from UKIP council candidate Patricia Mountain several times now and I still cannot work out what point (political or otherwise) she is trying to make.

She seems disgruntled that her train from Seaford left on time without her (the timetable is widely available), that there were no facilities open at the station at 9pm and that the buildings are painted the wrong colour.

Perhaps she would like the ‘wealth’ of unemployed young people and the retired community to get together and re-paint all of our local stations BR green, although I doubt they could do much about the ‘freezing wind’. Maybe she can enlighten us as to what facilities are available at her local stations of Portslade and Aldrington after hours.

I would hazard a guess that there were none. In the meantime, she might like to visit Seaford during the day, when she will see that it is a nice town, with a popular and well-used railway station.
