During the elections I helped as a teller, asking voters if they might care to provide their voting number so that the area office could identify who has voted and more to the point, who has not.
This then saved having to remind them before voting closed at 10pm.
Not once did I see a Labour Party supporter likewise helping out.
I was always alone, deep in East Brighton Labour territory.
Were they perhaps too complacent to really care and suffered the consequences?
