I am somewhat puzzled by the content of a letter that was published in The Argus recently (May 13).
The writer had acted as a teller in the recent elections, asking people to supply him with their voting numbers.
The reason for this, he said, was to allow his area office to identify who had, or had not, voted.
Perhaps The Argus can perform a public service and launch an investigation aimed at discovering which political party has an ‘area office’ that can tie up a voting number with a voter’s name and thus find out if that person did, or did not, vote?
Are our elections secret or not?
