I was interested to read Mr Charles Holcombe’s letter (May 13) regarding the lack of tellers for other parties on polling day.

I also was quite surprised to find I was the only one at my polling station taking numbers.

Granted there was a representative from Ukip and one from an Independent present, but only to stand and socialise together.

What happened to the Labour teller and Lib Dem teller?

I was told none of them had sufficient computer facilities.

Can that be true? If so I feel my hours there were well spent and they were.

It amazes me the number of voters who are so anti giving you their numbers – do they really think it is letting the cat out of the bag who they are voting for?

If they do, what have they got to hide?
