I appreciate the humour behind the idea of seeking independence from blue Britain (Argus, May 16).
It was the Green Party who wanted to break up Britain when they supported independence for Scotland in the referendum.
It was the Greens who undermined the votes for the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats in marginal constituencies, resulting in more Tory MPs due to the First Past The Post electoral system.
There is also implication that the Green Party are progressive.
Yet they are promoting the i360 ‘corporate pod’ at great cost to the council tax payers; reduced the rate of recycling when in power; demolished a landmark community pub without consultation; and removed safety features in traffic schemes.
It is the Greens who have contributed to making Britain blue while also tarnishing the reputation of our city.
