In response to Gary Kemp (Letters, April 19), I wish you all the best in your task with the bureaucrats who impart untruths about fluoridation.

They have poisoned nearly 50 per cent of the population in Newcastle and that city has not woken up to this fact.

Perhaps its the anaesthetic properties of fluoride - I am serious.

I even have it in writing from a primary health care trust manager that it was not my right to drink fluoride-free water.

What can I say when one is dealing with fools like this - the word arrogance comes to mind.
