I write in response to the letter and photo regarding the temporary fencing and attached advertisements in Marine Parade, Brighont (Letters, November 26) .
I wish to reassure your correspondent and your readers that I have taken the following action: Due to the length of time the fencing has been in place and its unsightly nature, the council will endeavour to have the fencing removed as soon as possible. It may be that the property owners have installed the temporary fencing to prevent easy access to the roof. It is the owners’ responsibility to find an alternative solution.
I will look to have the fencing removed, along with any unauthorised advertisements as soon as possible.
Councillor Lynda Hyde, planning committee chairman, Brighton and Hove City Council
