Press for attention!

I managed to get a press area pass for Saturday’s game. It’s at hut well that’s not entirely fair it’s a about three huts and a press box full of wires and lap tops, mixed together with lots of people who look furtively like they shouldn’t be there.

Bookies Vere to the Greens!
Posted on 10:26am Wednesday 24th March 2010
Well, the important results for Brighton Pavilion are in. I am not sure who the returning officer is going to be, Terry Garoghan, Simon ‘I am a Brightonian I am’ Fanshawe, or Tony Bloom? But just in case none of them turn up, I’ll do it. The results of the quiz from the bloke who is supposed to do the Albion blog, are set as follows. In Miss World order (highly appropriate when you consider the candidates did not respond): Nigel Carter UKIP 4th, Berni Millam 0 (Berni couldn’t find the time to compete), Nancy Platts 9 - a decent effort, Caroline Lucas...sorry Dr Caroline Lucas MEP14, and the winner with 18 out 20; the duly announced Pavilion Ward pre-Easter quiz champion, the almost thatcheresq Charlotte Vere. Thanks to all for being good sports.

Pavilion Dollar Questions

I have decided to go a little off topic this week, and with the budget announced for March 24, have a look at the political picture in my part of Brighton. It is likely Gordon Brown’s confidant Mr Mandelson might tell him the most advantageous time to announce the bloody battle of General Election is, May 6th ..... Probably. It is apparent; Messer’s Cameron and Brown will be paraded live on TV in a US style election debate scenario, with possibly David Dimbleby in middle with bow tie and dress shirt, to make these discussions truly memorable bouts. I expect Nick Clegg might be allowed to shout contradicting statements from the wings.

Aston is a relatively small suburb of Birmingham a bit bigger than Patcham probably. Although there are a number of differences. Aston doesn't have a Duck Fair or a railway tunnel. However it does have a station and one of the most famous football teams in the world.
