This was supposed to be a review of the Brentford match. But Brighton & Hove council neglected to grit the Withdean pitch. So a Saturday afternoon talking to wives or girlfriends, sorry I mean partners, had to be endured by many.

This won't take long. Friday's game was uninspiring, and not very thought provoking. So,I am saving it all up for a supa dupa review of the last 10 years and a humorous (that'll be a first) review of the Orient match. Right here, sometime after the in laws have gone home on Boxing day. So hopefully from about 4.30pm. Seasons Greetings and many thanks for all the reads and the messages so far.

I could have got to Withdean almost as late as I did last Saturday. No more than 30 seconds after kick off our cherub like referee awarded Charlton a free kick. Whilst we awaited this to taken a Charlton player and Adam El Abd appeared to tussle on the edge of the penalty area, what happened next was almost brilliant.

Brighton and Hove Albion have sensationally asked the Football Association to give them the FA Cup. Over 26 years since they should have one it. Early last week whilst eating a 5th helping of paella former Albion striker Mike Robinson suddenly remembered that Manchester United defender Gordon McQueen called him a 'Nancy boy' during the last minute of extra time in the 1983 FA Cup Final. The shock of this, caused Robinson to accidentally pass the ball to Gordon Smith, who from 1 yard out pansied the ball to keeper Gary Bailey. Robinson stated at Soho Square today that he would have scored with out doubt had he not been verbally molested. The FA are said to be taking this claim very seriously.

Sunday afternoon’s news is not a shock. It’s a shame but it’s no surprise. Russell Slade and his assistants Dean White and Bob Booker have been let go, relieved of their duties, sacked!

I watched the game with a couple of old school pals yesterday. Steve who doesn’t attend very often well ever, because it might rain. Also, with two young boys it’s quite expensive. Amongst other excuses.
