It was such a shame to hear about the cancellation of the Beachdown festival. Festivals are so much fun and as (sentence doesnt read well) most people, I have had to carefully choose the few that I have gone to - as if I had been given infinite amounts of money I would have gone to many more.So given this and the economic climate, Beachdown had it tough from the start. But fret not, in true Brighton spirit companies are stepping in and offering people who have Beachdown tickets special offers.

For instance Lucky Voice are giving anyone with Beachdown festival tickets an hour free, the Duke of York are offering all ticket holders £1 off your cinema ticket and the Ocean Rooms are offering free entry to ticket holders over the weekend as are the Latest Music Bar just to name a few!

As for me? Well I am in the mood for dancing! I am determined not to spend my whole weekend at Concorde2 but on Saturday and Sunday some of the bands that were due to play the C2 band stage will be playing and on the bank holiday Monday they are holding a Notting Hill Carnival alternative complete with live Music, DJS and best of all - a Jamaican BBQ! What's best of all is all of these events are free!

I am sure there will be loads on but so far I cannot see too many to pull me away from my Concorde 2 camp. There are a few contenders for tonight. Firstly I have always wanted to check out Stone Love at Digital an indie rock and roll night at Digital that I have been hearing great reviews about but also there's Mojo To Go Go at the Handbury club. Ok, I first looked it up because of the great name, but after looking it up I am intrigued to see what a night of swinging 60s psychedelia, soul, beat, boogaloo, ska and garage is like!

Apart from that it looks like I will be setting up camp at Concorde2 maybe leaving briefly to watch the last instalment of Brighton's pier fireworks at 9.30pm on Saturday, unless anyone has any other tips offs for a memorable bank holiday?
