Smartphones are a great invention. With improved technology we suddenly have a laptop, phone, camera and camcorder all rolled into one at the touch of a button.
It is a great way of capturing moments instantly, and also keeping pictures of loved ones close at hand wherever you go.
But with such advanced technology and capabilities, precious records of special times can be lost.
Sadly in the case of Brighton mum Jacqui Janes she has now lost the only copy of a video of her last Christmas with 20-year-old son Jamie before he died in Afghanistan. The video was on Mrs Janes’ phone – until a robber snatched it from her while she walked her dog.
She has openly pleaded with the thief to hand the memory card in so she can be reunited with the video – reminding us all that no matter how advanced gadgets become, nothing is more precious than a memory.
Hopefully the man responsible has a conscience and comes forward.
