Firefighters in Uckfield have successfully beaten the world record for the furthest distance covered down a fireman’s pole in one hour.
The successful crew may be ablaze with success but no doubt their attempt will inflame their colleagues at Hove station – the previous world record holders.
Whether the Hove crew will now attempt to claim back their crown remains the burning question.
