A PERSON’S age or disability is no barrier to making important changes – as teenager Alice Harmer has proved.

The 15-year-old from Brighton has been instrumental in helping to shape important government policy aimed at improving the help and support children and young people with disabilities and their families get as they make their way through school.

Alice’s own experiences have made her the perfect choice to give feedback and advice to the Department for Education and she has made sure she got her points across.

Congratulations must go to the teen for her important work.

It will take a few years for the impact of the changes to be felt but hopefully Alice’s efforts will go a long way towards helping thousands of young people and their carers across the country for many years to come.
