Do not forget VE Day
NEXT May will be the 70th anniversary of VE Day.
The special day marks the end of the Second World War in Europe in 1945.
While the centenary of the First World War is taking centre stage at the moment, we must mark this special date in May.
This will be the last major anniversary of VE Day for many veterans of the war – who are now in their nineties.
It will be our last opportunity to say thank you in person.
It is disappointing to hear the government is yet to have any concrete plans in place and we call on them to start preparations as soon as possible.
