As Eaton Place surgery closes its doors for the last time one of its departing GPs has spoken openly about the NHS and life as a family doctor.
His words provide a troubling insight into the pressures he was under.
He speaks of feeling utterly spent following the whole saga and there are certainly question marks over the handling of the situation.
There can be no doubt of his commitment and sense of care and duty towards his patients.
That comes across in spades in the short first person piece.
However, what also comes across is the sense of stress he has been under.
If NHS family doctors are going to continue to be a part of our community then those higher up the chain of command need to take note.
They would do well to start looking at what has happened here.
