WILDLIFE rescues have more than trebled since Spring sprang, an animal rescue service has said.
Baby ducks, wood pigeons and ducklings are just some of the casualties saved by the East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS).
Founder Trevor Weeks said it is natural at this time of year to receive more call outs as young animals venture out on their first steps and parents scrabble to look after their brood, while dodging roads and avoiding house pets who could pose problems to their livelihoods.
But he did say the sudden increase is out of the ordinary, meaning the charity is even more in need than before.
WRAS tirelessly looks out for the animals that may not be able to look after themselves and is entirely funded by donations.
It is a great service and one that we hope is supported by the people that live in Sussex for a very long time.
