WORDS cannot begin to describe the horror of the last week’s attacks in Tunisia.

This brutal massacre carried out by the most evil and hate-filled monsters has left families up and down the country in mourning or anxiously waiting for news to see if their loved ones managed to escape.

These people were innocent tourists and yet they were murdered and turned into victims of a delusional holy war waged by lunatics.

The worldwide heartbreak is now all too familiar as these madmen turn their weapons against innocents.

Their actions are unforgivable and this hammer blow to our country is one which is going to scar our national psyche for decades.

But as we all come to terms with the savagery of this atrocity, we cannot allow ourselves to be blinded by rage and hate because this is exactly what fuels the maniacs who committed this attack.

ISIS may have accepted responsibility under the banner of religion, but they have perverted Islam to justify their psychotic actions.

The troubling tide of Islamaphobia is already beginning to bubble up again.

But the actions of a handful of monsters cannot be used to justify tarring an entire culture with the same brush. ISIS does not represent Islam.

We cannot allow ourselves to become as blind and hate-filled as the cruel men who committed this slaughter.

While the perpetrators must face justice, turning on innocents here at home is exactly what the terrorists want as they try to force us into a playing their game of holy war.
