JUST six games of football now stand between Albion and the promised land of the Premier League.

It feels as if the club has been building towards this point since the Seagulls moved to the Amex in 2011.

Club bosses have wisely been careful not to overspend.

We have a fantastic stadium, a club charity to be proud of and a manager we would all be proud to call our boss.

We have all the ingredients to be a fantastic Premier League club. We have never been closer.

Promotion would be huge, not only for the club but also for the city.

The extra TV money for the Albion would only be the start of it.

There is the prestige, the coverage at home and abroad, and the opportunities for sponsorship deals and overseas ventures.

It would also be a sign of how far we have come as a city.

It was only in 2000 that Brighton and Hove was handed city status.

If all goes to plan our city, in footballing terms, would be on the same stage as Manchester and Liverpool.

But we are not there yet. Huddersfield are breathing down our necks and the boys need all the support they can get.

So grab your scarves, flags and anything else blue and white.

If you go to the Amex then sing your heart out.

If you watch at home or listen on the radio then give it your all from the comfort of your sofa.

The Premier League is within touching distance.

Let’s make sure we let Hughton and the boys know we are right behind them.

Up the Albion.
