THE work-life balance is one of those illusive ideas of what life should be like… if we didn’t have a million other elements being thrown at us daily.
How can you find time to cram your 40hour plus week (with all of those lovely ‘extra’ emails) into your busy home life – with or without children in the mix.
With shocking statistics showing over one in ten employees work over 50 hours a week, and four out of ten fathers are willing
to take a pay cut to achieve some equilibrium, the situation is real, and needs addressing.
Whilst Nordic countries including Sweden and Norway have already taking notice of the impact that working a shorter week has on our productivity, how can we ensure the UK follows suit?
Take action into our own hands. Start training employers and their teams to reap the benefits of working productively.
At Pitman Training Brighton we've been offering a whole host of free advice, alongside free brain food, with our team on Meeting House Lane, to help local office based workers achieve more productivity at work to try and reduce the need for work to blend into family time.
Pitman has also revealed that by improving typing speed by just 10 words per minute we could all save ourselves a whole working day per week, giving us all more chance of getting home on time.
