With the end of season nearly upon us and Brighton set to enter the play-offs with the grand prize being a place in the Premiership, I found a nice little fact for everyone ahead of today’s Albion game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It was Saturday, May 4, 1982 and Brighton had beaten Wolves 2-0. The programme documented the fact that the club had six players away on international duty the previous week: Steve Foster (England), Mickey Thomas (Wales), Sammy Nelson (Northern Ireland) and Michael Robinson, Tony Grealish and Gerry Ryan with the Republic of Ireland.

Let’s hope for another victory today followed by three more to take us into the Premiership.

I wonder how many players we will have playing international football next season.

A massive thanks to Gus Poyet, Tony Bloom and the staff and players for getting us to the brink of the promised land. Let’s fill the Amex and make some noise.

What a fantastic time to be an Albion fan.

Over the years, I have supported many clubs which have fallen on hard times in the past, with Leeds and Celtic being among them.

However, now that Brighton are doing so well, I can say I am truly an Albion fan.

Go Seagulls!
