As a Brighton and Hove City Council customer I am really fed up about the refuse dispute, but not for the reason you may expect.

I am fed up because of the total lack of clear information about the dispute.

We hear that some employees will lose £4,000. I would be annoyed about that if it was my wage being cut.

Tell us some facts about this dispute. For example, what are the workers’ current pay and allowances? How does this compare to other similar jobs in local councils and private companies?

Maybe, instead of the low-paid refuse workers losing £4,000, the equivalent number of highest earners should lose the money.

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish! That is all I can see and smell in my street.

We are now in our third week of no collections. All the bins are full and it’s all over the street. At least the council are keeping the seagulls fully fed this summer.

It’s been almost four weeks since our recycling was collected. For a Green council, it’s not doing very well!

How long is this going to take and why were there no contingency plans?

Will we be reimbursed for a non-service we pay for?

I have yet to see a collection truck in my area.

I think a council tax payment strike should be the order of the day; we won’t pay until it’s all cleared up. Let’s see how they like that.

Come on, this is getting beyond a joke now. Clean up your act and clean up this city.
