After reading your news about a pigeon that was shot by someone with an arrow, I just had to write to say how disgusted I was that someone could do this to a defenceless animal (The Argus, June 11).

We shop at Tesco in Lewes and see pigeons in the Tesco car park.

The younger children are fascinated by them. I know that members of staff at Tesco are upset and annoyed with what happened.

Some people believe pigeons are flying rodents. Even so, these people should not be allowed to shoot pigeons with an arrow.

I hope they get what’s coming to them as they shouldn’t get away with this mindless action.
