The development of The Level in Brighton has been a huge success.
It has brought enormous benefit to the community but there is still some way to go, with one obvious problem to my mind.
The Rose Walk, the path between Lewes Road and Ditchling Road, has lost its seating.
I have been contacted by an elderly woman who, along with others, crosses The Level from Hanover to do their shopping in London Road.
It used to be possible to sit down along the way. I have raised this issue with the authorities and have been told replacement seating is under review.
There is a real need for more seating in public places. If we want an age-friendly Brighton and Hove, we should be putting in more seating, not taking it away. We need it.
