Reading the reply to my letter from Emma Richards (December 24), I think she is completely missing the point.

I do not condone the abuse of animals. I eat meat and always will, as have my ancestors for centuries, providing they are killed humanely.

I was asking her what would happen to all these animals if they were not farmed for food.

Does she think some kind farmer will look after them free of charge?

If so, could she please supply me with a pair of the rose-tinted glasses through which she views life?
