Mr Wimbleton describes the thugs who attacked his cat as “sick” (The Argus, December 27). For that particular “sickness”, I would prescribe 50 lashes. Of course, all they would receive is a six-month prison sentence, of which only three months would be served.
That is the reason for so much cruelty to animals in this country: lenient punishments. At least after the lashes they would not feel like attacking any more animals – or doing much else. It would be a perfect cure for their “sickness”.
