I can’t really think of a better trio of experiences to make my Sunday than coming to the Dome Concert Hall to see the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra.
Firstly I go to the morning rehearsal in the concert hall.
The space in the auditorium tells my imagination it can roam. Barry Wordsworth displays his easy manner with the orchestra and it is interesting to follow the process of thought behind the music.
It is a chance to hear some of the music that will follow in the afternoon, knowing I will have a second chance when the concert begins.
Following that, Peter Back’s interviews with people connected to the concerts display his extraordinary knowledge. His friendly style coaxes the best out of his guests.
Time then for a walk outside to catch a glimpse of our splendid city on a Sunday before the concert in the afternoon with this magnificent orchestra on display.
