In my case it could possibly be the onset of “angry old man syndrome” but am I really alone in wanting to reach for the off button when I see or hear someone in the the media who drives me to distraction?

The individuals who elicit this response may be overbearing, egoistical, unfunny or just plain boring!

Just seeing them or hearing their voice grates on me.

In no particular order of aggravation, the following are just some of the offenders who spring to mind.

Whatever conclusions you may draw from this roll-call of personal irritants, I hasten to assure other Argus readers that I do have a sense of humour and that I am as tolerant as the next man.

Diane Abbott MP, Robert Peston, Davina McCall, Glenda Jackson MP, Miranda Hart, Melvyn Bragg, Russell Brand, Harriet Harman MP, Michael McIntyre, William Hague MP, Neil Kinnock, Keith Lemon, Billy Connolly, John Bishop, Jacob Rees-Mogg MP, George Galloway MP, Noel Edmonds, Peter Hitchen and David Starkey.

And finally, in addition to these people, for good measure, the introductory jingles of The One Show and QI.

Robin Tulley, Honey Croft, Hove
