My great-grandfather George Richard Rowland was born in Brighton in 1868. He moved to Plymouth when he was a young man, married and had three children, one of whom was my grandmother Ellen Louisa. He was a keen sportsman. His father was also a George Rowland and his mother Louisa Nealen Rowland.
He had a sister, Mary Louisa Rowland, who married George Daniel Bradford in Brighton (1891). They had five children. One of these children, Ellen, married a Henry Huggins and had a son, Ernest. His brother, William, may have married a Lily Golds. Rowland is not a rare name in the area and we have been trying to make sure we have the right branch of the family.
If anyone recognises any of the above people or is a descendant of any of the above, we would love to hear from you. We have never been able to resolve the Brighton side of our family.
