Regarding Brighton and Hove Bus Company’s so-called improvements, the number 18 bus has been advertised as going to Brighton Station.

This is a replacement service for the number 21 bus, which carried passengers to the rear car park of the station.

I tried the bus on Monday to check it out as I plan to use the station in a few weeks’ time.

This new “improved” number 18 service did not go to Brighton Station; it stopped in Frederick Place, well below the station entrance and at the start of the steepest section of Trafalgar Street. This stop is totally unsuitable for people with mobility problems: the elderly, disabled, those with heavy luggage or pushchairs.

A re-routing of this service is needed in the near future.
