Did you know that East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is currently consulting the people of Brighton and Hove (and East Sussex) over making cuts to your fire service?

If the answer is no, you are not alone. Virtually no one else seems to have heard about this either.

These dramatic cuts include removing one of the five fire engines based here in the city, losing half the jobs at Roedean Fire Station and making the rest work shifts up to 96 hours long.

Please make your voice heard by responding to this consultation – http://www.esfrs.org/publicconsultation – before Monday (April 28).

I would ask readers to vote against these proposals from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and urge the service to extend its consultation period as so few people seem to have heard about it.
