Since the bin men in Brighton joined the national strike last Thursday, household refuse for that day was not due to be collected until yesterday.
One is now overwhelmed by the stench of festering household waste walking through Drove Crescent and surrounding streets in North Portslade because many residents simply leave rubbish piling up in the street.
Granted there is a lack of communication from the council and indeed councillors, but common sense should now dictate that the rubbish be kept off the street out of the sun until the next usual collection date.
