So Betty Teague thinks it’s OK to drive under the influence of drink (Argus July 14). I think the headlines should have read: shamed gran is caught driving over the drink drive limit.

Does she think it’s OK to drive slowly with no lights on? Perhaps if she had been banned for life, her car impounded and sold the money raised could be given to the specialist care wards that try to rebuild people’s lives who have been ruined by drunk drivers. It might wipe that smug look off her face.

I too am a pensioner. I would never drink and drive. My licence is too important to me.
