While not surprised, I had a wry smile after reading the letter from Mr Chris Todd in The Argus.

Clearly, as is quite obvious from his views, Mr Todd is of the minority green persuasion so will always have a jaundiced view on all ecological matters.

He and his fellow comrades can only ever see their alternative lifestyle as the norm.

Recently I wrote to the Argus complaining of the dire congestion state of the A27 in the Worthing area, and, after reading Mr Todd’s letter, the real problem becomes all too clear.

Mr Todd together with the well funded Green lobby is quite happy to influence events which allows traffic to grind to a halt, as it does around Brighton and Hove and the A27.

Camouflaged in statistical psycho-babble, the aim is to disillusion motorists to the point where out of desperation, they will give up their motorised transport.

I see Mr Todd and friends having a vision, where our once clear roads will turn into dusty tracks, then we can all meander along, astride our horse or bicycle, clad in sustainable wooden shoes.

I am sure at some point in the winter our solar panel heating may actually keep us warm.

While Mr Todd is entitled to his opinion, he should not inflict his lifestyle vision on us.

The truth of the matter is we as a country need every type of energy source available to function as a modern economy.

Together with renewable initiatives, that also includes petrol/diesel motor cars, nuclear and fossil fuel options.
