Further to your story dated July 18 about Maisie Bockler cutting her hair for charity, my niece Alice, about nine weeks ago went to get her hair cut as she has long hair .

Kirsty, her mum, tried to persuade her to have a few inches cut off. Alice said she wanted a lot more cut off because she wanted to give it to children who have lost their own hair.

Her mother found a charity called The little Princess Trust, and they accept hair. So Alice wanted to do it for them.

On the day, at the hairdressers, Lucy plaited Alice’s hair and cut 12 inches off.

They sent the plait to the charity and Alice received a certificate from them.

She has said she is going to grow her hair again so she can do the same again.

I want to let this seven year old know how very proud all of her family are of her.
