The Alliance of British Drivers (ABD) has produced a motorists’ charter with a blueprint for fairer treatment for drivers.
A recent opinion poll found two-thirds of drivers were unaware that £1 in every £5 paid in motoring taxes is spent on our roads. See www.fairdealforthemotorist.org.uk.
A key point is that drivers fined unfairly by councils should have the automatic right to a refund. The ABD is particularly keen to hear from readers over experiences with councils.
Our Does Your Council Give You the Hump? competition has had interesting entries and we are encouraging everyone to have their say before it closes on August 31. You could win a top prize of £200. Full details on above website.
