Jean-Claude Juncker does women no favours by stamping his feet and complaining about the lack of women in key roles in the EC.

All candidates for all posts should be judged by their skills – not by gender.

We women do not need special treatment and as a British woman I object to patronising claptrap.

Juncker also seems to be forgetting that the person who is really in charge of the EU is Germany's Chancellor, who happens to be female.

It was she who got him the job in the first place.......and only because she hates the other candidate.

Women should earn their place on merit, not genitalia.
