Brian Beck seems unaware of the many extra benefits and reasons 20 mph limits are and can be used by councils.
Most cars will not produce anything near the levels of pollution he suggests at lower speeds.
There is more to gain from 20 mph than this through such as reduced noise, better traffic flow and massively reduced physical injury in collisions.
It also encourages cycling and walking, and makes it easier for the disabled and elderly to cross the road.
As for vacuum cleaners. Dyson are launching a European Court appeal and asking for a review.
High powered cleaners are not being banned, just energy rated, but the rating is flawed in several ways that Dyson himself best explains on his website and in The Telegraph.
