I visited Portsmouth the other day and saw at the harbour side the Spinnakar Tower for the first time and what a magnificent site it was.
Photographs fail to do justice to this fantastic structure.
The authorities in Portsmouth must be congratulated in presumably moving mountains to get it put up and I would argue that in purely visual terms a replica of the Spinnaker Tower would be much better for the City of Brighton and Hove seafront than the i360 Viewing Platform we are going to have.
It is too late to change this situation and I think Portsmouth will always out-compete us in visual terms in this respect.
